Michele Mara

Michael Mara was born in Busto Arsizio in 1903. Between the 1928 and the 1936, he races as a professional for the Bianchi, distinguishing himself as sprinter.

Won the second place at the World Championships in 1928, but the real success came two years later when he won the Rome-Naples-Rome, Milan-Sanremo, the Tour of Lombardy and five stages in the Tour of Italy (Catania, Teramo, Ancona, Rovigo and Milan).

In 1931 he won two more stages in the Tour of Italy and gets sixth place finish in 1932.

He died on the 18th of November 1986 at the age of 83 years.
